Societies are student run groups that offer students the opportunity to continue their hobbies, learn new skills and meet like-minded people. Here at the Union we have a large number of Societies to choose from.

Our Societies
Loughborough Students’ Union has over 150 Societies offering everything from Hot Air Ballooning to Surfing. Alongside over 55 sports clubs in the Athletic Union, there is an activity for everyone.

Clubs and Societies are a great way to get involved at Loughborough and make new friends – particularly the international societies which attract membership from around the world.
​
All clubs and societies are run by students – the Union provides financial assistance, training and support to ensure success.

Your Society
Societies are Student run and therefore if there isn't one that suits your hobby, you can start up your own. Just think: is it doable? Will people join my society? Is this society unique compared to what is already available?
If the answer is yes, there will be two chances in the year to submit a new society application, and your Societies Rep will be on hand to help you with this process!
